The Häagen-Dazs® brand was invented by two immigrant entrepreneurs with a vision.

Our founders used their creativity, sense of playfulness, and a totally made-up name to create an iconic luxury brand. By transforming the finest ingredients into rich and indulgent ice cream, they created the first luxury ice cream that could be enjoyed by all.


Inspired by the passion and creativity of our founders, we’ve tapped into a new generation of diverse tastemakers to share their own personal definitions of luxury and let their individuality shine. Because whatever luxury means to you - Thät’s Dazs.


Jade Purple Brown is an artist and illustrator based in NYC. She's recognized for her vibrant and dynamic illustrations featuring women of color.


Tauri Janeé is a Black, Brooklyn based multidisciplinary artist, writer, event producer and educator. She uses these various creative outlets-including writing and design-as tools for wellness and self exploration.


We believe that luxury is defined by the many, not the few. That’s why we’ve partnering with a range of talented creators—artists, dancers, chefs and more—to showcase each tastemaker’s own passions, artistries and what #ThätsDazs means to them. The Häagen-Dazs® brand has rallied this group of tastemakers to inspire others to showcase their own personal passions and creative expressions using the hashtag #ThätsDazs. Häagen-Dazs® has pledged to donate $500,000 to Anderson .Paak’s nonprofit, The Brandon Anderson Foundation. This donation is the culmination of the Häagen-Dazs® three-year, $1.5 million commitment to supporting nonprofit organizations and spotlighting underrepresented creatives across music, fashion, culinary and art. Similarly, Häagen-Dazs® and the Brandon Anderson Foundation support and create initiatives that uplift, engage and back the community through access to the arts and experiences.


Anderson .Paak is an 8x GRAMMY Award winner, producer, songwriter, artist & director. His passion for collaboration, experimentation, and personal expression drives his music forward, as he seamlessly blends genres and pushes the boundaries.

Our Commitment

As Polish-Jewish immigrants from the Bronx, our founders knew what it was to be marginalized, but with the financial support from another family business, they were able to realize their dream and create Häagen-Dazs®, a luxurious treat for all to enjoy. We want to make sure other underrepresented creators and tastemakers have the opportunity to realize their dreams as well. In 2021 we committed $1.5M over three years to support and uplift this community. While this year we celebrate our initial fulfillment, this is just the beginning of our work for years to come.
