Ingredients

Dreyer's Neapolitan ice cream or Edy's® Neapolitan ice cream

5 egg whites

1/3 cup sugar

(Optional) item*

*Tip: add tips (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Scoop the ice cream onto serving plates and place in the freezer to set again.

Step 2

Place egg whites and sugar into a glass or metal bowl. Place the bowl over a saucepan filled with 2 inches of water. Place over the oven on medium heat so that the water is simmering.

Step 3

Once the sugar is dissolved, place the egg white mixture into a standing mixer and beat on low until foamy. Slowly turn up the speed until stiff peaks appear when you quickly dip the whisk in and out of the meringue.

Step 4

Place the meringue into a freezer bag and cut off the tip on one edge. Pipe around the ice cream scoops.

Step 5

Either torch the meringue with a kitchen torch or place under the oven broiler until dark golden brown.
